Planning a road trip with your baby? Worried that travelling
long miles in the car with the little one could be exhausting? Here are a few
tips which are going to help the moms, the cranky babies and active
preschoolers to make the trip a memorable one without any unexpected meltdowns.
1)
Plan the Trip:
The basic criterion of an unforgettable trip is the PLAN. Everything should be
done in advance, like the bookings, the car check. Keep an eye on the baby’s
mood during travelling, if your baby tends to enjoy it then day time is the
best to travel, otherwise choose a time when the baby is asleep. Take care of
items such as window shades, bottle warmer, music, toys for baby etc.
2)
Prepare
The Car In Advance: This is the best way to mitigate the stress before
leaving for the trip. Pack the car in advance and keep all the important stuff,
which can help you move in a more organized way and reduce the chances of
forgetting one thing or the other. Keep the things which are must for your baby
such as diapers, baby blanket, head pillow etc.
3)
Be
Flexible: Be like your baby’s best friend and stay relaxed with all the
challenges which come up. Always try to be flexible and do whatever the child
wants as this is going to make him less irritable. Stop, when required and take
a calm walk around to make the child feel relaxed.
4)
Take
Snacks: In order to avoid getting stuck at the restraints for drinks and
snacks, be smart and carry a few things which are liked by you and your baby.
Some favorite treats while travelling includes sandwiches, fruits, cookies,
raisins, rice cakes etc. These are easy to eat and there are less chances of
spilling.
5)
Keep
Things Out Of Baby’s Reach: All the naughty little ones have the habit of
throwing the stuff and making a mess. So, what you can do is keep the things
out of reach of your kid and give him the toys one by one, in order to avoid
the mess in the car.
Be relaxed all the time and try to be more organized in
order to make the trip awesome. Be smart parents and don’t’ let your stress
make your baby feel irritable. Try to
handle all the situations throughout the trip calmly and ENJOY THE TRIP!
